Officer Retention is a problem not only here in Cabarrus County, but across the nation. Pay, Benefits, Work Schedules, Promotional/ Transfer Process, Leadership, etc... My goal is to chart a course not only recruit quality staff but to build a plan that will retain our talented officers and create policies that will ensure fair opportunity for learning and growth.
Recognizing that the Office of the Sheriff works for the citizens of Cabarrus County, I seek to ensure there are opportunities for citizen and volunteer involvement.
For any Law Enforcement agency to be successful, it has to have the support of its employees and the public trust.
I believe that we need to utilize new and innovatitve methods of crime prevention and enforcement. I will use an analysis of crime trends and find the underlying problems and then work towards pushing resources into reducing the problem.
